Santa's Little Helper...I mean SCREAMER

This week we got in the Christmas spirit...wrapping presents, sugar cookies, Christmas music, looking at lights, and even a trip to the North Pole to see Jolly St.Nick but there was NOTHING jolly about Cole. He was so terrified that he would barely sit on my lap as I sat next to Santa. Cole I don't know which list Santa Claus is going to write your name on after your glass shattering vocal performance.

How much can you pack into a weekend?

Holy smokes- this weekend has been loaded. First we celebrated our 5th anniversary on the 20th and went to dinner just the two of us...which never happens...if you have kids you know. Then we woke up early this morning to head to the Ammon fire house. Jared got hired on to be a volunteer firefighter. This will allow him to get the training and certifications he needs. I am so proud of him- he has worked extremely hard and I know he will continue to do so until he reaches his goal of getting a full-time job as a firefighter/EMT. Today the Ammon dept hosted a family/public day with breakfast, games, tours, and fire safety. After Coley drove the truck we went to David's baptism, a friend of ours. It was a really special experience. Next we were off to Rexburg for the Morris family reunion. After a few hours of family fun we drove back to IF for Cole's friend Andy's birthday party. Cole came home with a belly full of cake and ice cream. Did I mention I am teaching in church tomorrow- I just got done putting it together...whew I am pooped!!!!

Extreme Home Makeover

Later this month is our 5 year anniversary, so we decided to get new couches as a gift. Our old couches are still in great shape so we handed them down to the newlyweds, Zach and Juliana, and got our gift a month early.

Here are Jared and Caleb playing on the old couches a couple years back...

and here are the new ones!

We have been needing a bigger table and lucky for us, Zach and Juliana were also given a couple of old tables and one didn't fit in their apartment so they gave it to us. It was in need of some "updating" so we went to work on it.

We also found some old chairs in need of repair and refinishing and added them to the project.

Cole was as involved as he could be in the whole process.

Here is a completed chair next to an old one waiting its turn.

Here is the table BEFORE we started...

and AFTER some dust, sweat, and fumes.

Now we've noticed a couple other old pieces of furniture that are crying out for some attention...

Cole's first haircut

Before...

Let's get this party started!

Is that DAD behind me?!

I can hear the jokes already! hehehe

After...

And you thought I was a chick magnet BEFORE!

Mr & Mrs

Zach and Juliana were married at the Rexburg temple this past Friday

My boys outside the temple

Cole picking flowers from the temple grounds...is that going to count against him?

...and the rose goes to???
Notice the one admirer already with a veil on

Let's get this par-tay started Hadley

Proud Uncle Zachy

Their yummy candy bar- cute idea

Throw him in the ditch

Coley and Juliana, Cole's saying: "Zach we'll catch ya later"

The photographer was telling them to crunch (you know lean in and bend a little)well Jared wasn't hip to the lingo so notice his "crunching"

Us with the newlyweds

To top the day off the top of the cake went all over Zach's face.
Welcome to the family Juliana- you already fit in perfectly
So happy for the two of you!

Saddle up Coley

Hey Hadley- we're at the rodeo for a night of fun

Here's the Morris gang

Cole and Hadley had matching tops from Grandma & Grandpa

Cole loves animals, especially horses, so it wasn't a shocker that he loves rodeos. He would wave his hands like the cowboys, clap, and just stare at them...meaning the horses they were doing all the work afterall
